On December 6, 2017, Wilbert (Bill) Wehrli, 86 years young, peacefully passed away after a short illness.

Bill was born in Hackensack, NJ. Over the years he lived in Wayne, Hasbrouck Heights, Cranford for 13 years, and Holmdel for 47 years. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree from Wagner College in 1953 and was an enthusiastic and active alumnus.

Bill worked as a cocoa broker at C. Schroeter, Inc in New York, NY for 32 years. He retired in 1985 and enjoyed winters in Boynton Beach, FL and summers all of his life in Ocean Beach II, Lavallette, NJ.

He was an active member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Holmdel, NJ since 1970; where he had been on the property committee and in the church choir. Bill enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, socializing, telling jokes, and swimming. Body surfing and walking the beach were special favorites. He also loved playing hockey and was an avid NY Rangers fan.

Bill was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Caroline; his parents Wilbert and Mary, and his sister Betty. He is survived by his daughters, Kimberly Wehrli, Diane (Wehrli) Mathisen and her husband Andy; his grandchildren Rachel Mathisen and her husband Mike Fink; Kurt Mathisen and Kirsten Mathisen.
