Ocean Beach – Harry A Drude, 93, of Ocean Beach, New Jersey, passed away peacefully of natural causes on March 24, 2020. Harry was born in Newark NJ, lived in Irvington, Rahway and his last 30 years in Ocean Beach (Lavallette) NJ while wintering in Sun City Arizona.
Harry is survived by his loving wife Eleanor of 69 years, son Harry (Diane) Drude, daughters Barbara Koza, Carol (Glenn) Desch, brother Richard (Martha) Drude, grandchildren Stacy (Josh) Cullen, Katie (Ryan) Franks, Mark (Becky) Drude, Brian (Sarah) Koza, Thomas Koza, Jason Desch, Chris (Courtney) Desch, four great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and extended family. Harry was a loving father, husband, grandfather, and friend to many.
Harry served in the U.S. Navy before starting his career at Ballantine & Sons Brewing Co. (Newark) and then at Anheuser-Busch (Newark). He was a dedicated advocate/promoter of the company’s products throughout his adult life.
Harry was an avid bowler into his late 70’s. Harry spent his free time traveling with Elly, spending time with family and friends, watching baseball, especially the New York Yankees, watching football or lending a helping hand to family, friends and neighbors.
Harry was thoughtful and had a good heart. He will be loved, missed and forever in our memories.
